In this series of 5 classes we will explore the special benefits of practising yoga outdoors.

There has been some interesting scientific research about how spending time outdoors can promote physical and psychological well-being.  Yoga philosophy has also recognised this: prana (the concept of life force, or vitality) is said to exist throughout the natural world, and by practising yoga outdoors we place ourselves in direct contact with it.  Prana naturally flows through the human body but can become depleted due to, for example, illness or stress.  The classes will focus on how we can restore a sense of vitality and equilibrium using movement, meditation and breathing exercises (pranayama).

The classes are open to all levels, including beginners.  Classes are in English and/or French as needed.  Mats are provided.

We will be practising at 1500 metres, surrounded by pasture (and cows!).  You might also like to bring a jumper or a blanket for the relaxation/meditation section of the class.

Please reserve by sending an SMS to 078 889 2918.  In case of bad weather I will contact you to let you know whether we can still run the class or not.

Friday morning dynamic vinyasa yoga classes

8h30 – 9h45, Hotel du Golf, Villars-sur-Ollon
Classes restart Friday 25th August 2017

Vinyasa Flow is a flowing style of yoga in which each pose links together with the next.   It is a mindful practice in which the breath and the movements are synchronised to create a moving meditation.  The class is dynamic and best suited to those who have done yoga before, but beginners are also welcome!  The content of the class varies each week but usually includes sun salutations, poses that strengthen the core and the shoulders/wrists, bandha and pelvic floor exercises, mobilisations for the hips and legs, pranayama (breathing exercises) and relaxation.

The class is taught in English.  Mats are available to borrow.

Reservations are essential.  To reserve your place please send an email to rosecarnegie@yahoo.co.uk.  For latest information on the classes please have a look at the Villars Yoga Facebook page.

Please arrive 10 minutes before the start of the class.

Cost 25.- francs per class.

I look forward to seeing you :)
